The Community Safety Group has only recently evolved and were able to complete the ‘Exercise Wirraway’ evacuation in conjunction with the local SES. Thanks to Origin & Wagga Wagga City Council for sponsorship.
A fridge magnet was produced in response to questions raised during the exercise and was produced thanks to the Uranquinty Progress Association.
The next meeting of the UCSG will be on the 21st April 2015, 7.30pm @ the Uranquinty Hall on Baker Street. All welcome.
The group will work our way through various scenarios in order to be better prepared to help the village during a time of crisis. If you would like to be a part of the group to help out we would love to see you at the meeting.
Call Belinda McMahon on 6922 9886 for details.
The SES will join us for a BBQ on 9th May for a display of our flood plans and the gear we have on hand. Learn more about what to do in a flood situation and how everyone can work together to keep safe.
